PORT İZMİR 2 TRİENALİ SANATÇILARI BELLİ OLDU
27 Eylül – 30 Kasım 2010 tarihleri arasında gerçekleştirilecek olan PORT İZMİR 2 Uluslararası Çağdaş Sanat Trienali'ne katılacak olan sanatçılar belli oldu. Sergi yapımcısı Dr. Necmi Sönmez, "Sessizlik_Fırtına" kavramı çerçevesinde, çalışmalarını dokuz ülkede sürdüren 40 sanatçıyı sergiye davet etti. Katılımcıların 19 tanesi çalışmalarını İstanbul ve İzmir'de sürdürüyor. İşleri ilk kez İzmir'de gösterilecek olan Joseph Beuys, Annette Messagier, Beat Streuli, Ulrike Grossarth gibi uluslararası sanatçıların yanı sıra, genç kuşağın ilgi çeken temsilcilerinin çalışmalarını gösterileceği sergi, farkllı kuşaklar arasında diyalog kurarak İzmir'in sosyo-kültürel yapısına gönderme yapmayı hedefliyor. İzmirli ünlü Hamza Rüstem Fotoğraf Atölyesi'nde Cumhuriyet Dönemi'nde çekilmiş stüdyo fotoğraflarının yanı sıra; resim, heykel, fotoğraf, yerleştirme, video, ses heykeli, duvar resmi tekniklerinde gerçekleştirilmiş olan yüzden fazla çalışmanın yer alacağı sergi, farklı yan etkinliklerle de desteklenecek.




ARTISTS PARTICIPATING IN TRIENNIAL “PORT IZMIR 2” ARE ANNOUNCED

The artists who will participate in the international contemporary art triennial "PORT IZMIR 2", which will take place between dates 27.09 – 30.11.2010, are now announced. The curator, Dr. Necmi Sönmez, invited forty artists carrying out their work in nine different countries, to participate at the event based on the theme "Silence_Storm". Nineteen of the participants carry out their work in Izmir and Istanbul. Along with international artists like Joseph Beuys, Annette Messagier, Beat Streuli and Ulrike Grossarth who will exhibit in Izmir for the first time, outstanding artists representing the younger generation will show their works at the same time, thus enabling the exhibition to create a dialogue between different generations, in an effort to address the socio-cultural construction in Izmir. The exhibition, which also includes studio photographs from the Early Republic Period, taken by the famous Hamza Rüstem of Izmir, will display over a hundred works of different techniques, i.e. paintings, sculptures, photographs, installations, videos, sound sculptures and wall paintings. Additionally, it will be enriched with various parallel activities
